Cayman Aquatics Athlete Committee (AC)
For Cayman Islands National Team Athletes
Welcome to the CIASA Athlete Committee (AC).
This committee has been created in alignment with World Aquatics guidelines to ensure that the voices, experiences and perspectives of Cayman Islands National Team athletes are represented at the board level of the Cayman Islands Aquatic Sports Association (CIASA/Cayman Aquatics).
The Athlete Committee exists for you. Our role is to support athletes and ensure that they have a respected, informed, and meaningful voice in the decisions that shape our national aquatic programmes.
Purpose of the Athlete Committee
- To formally represent all national team athletes across aquatic disciplines within CIASA.
- To share athlete feedback, concerns and suggestions directly to the CIASA Board.
- To help foster a strong sense of community, connection, and shared identity among current and past national athletes.
What the Athlete Committee Will Provide
Athlete Update
- Key information from CIASA meetings and planning discussions
- Relevant resources from World Aquatics and PanAm Aquatics (PAQ)
Guidance on topics such as:
- Mental health & well-being
- Prohibited substances & anti-doping updates
- Training, sleep & nutrition resources
- Competition qualification criteria and calendar updates
Athlete Recognition & Highlights
We aim to celebrate the success of our athletes — especially those training and competing overseas — and ensure those achievements are acknowledged within CIASA and the community.
Community Building
We plan to create opportunities to connect in person, including team-building activities or social gatherings when athletes are back on-island.
